New to SRB2, should I go No Save?

Recently, I started playing SRB2. I went S&T in a save slot, and I'm currently on the Arid Zone. Castle Eggman admittedly took a LOT of my continues I had been amassing, mostly on the boss of the zone. I mentioned this to some online friends, and one of them recommended to me that I go No Save and just run straight through as much as I can. TBH, the idea worries me, as having to restart after a while seems like a long way to go back, and I'm admittedly not very good at exploring the levels. Is going No Save a thing people normally do to get acclimated to the game? Should I go and do that?

I recommend just going with your save file, arid canyon isn't that hard apart from the boss and even then you can just reload your save to get all your lives back, the later zones can be quite a challenge tho.
Just play how you want as long as you're having fun

Hell no!
When you're trying to get accostumed to a(ny) game's mechanics, being able to save some amount of progress is a really good option to have. While it's not a perfect save here so to speak (loading a save after a loss places you at the start of a zone), it's still very useful.

Willingly getting rid of your ability to save your campaign would make the game harder on yourself.
Without a save, losing all your lives and continues would mean you are forced to start the campaign from zero.
This aids you nothing when it comes to more complex techniques or level pieces that come later in the campaign.

Just stick with your save. As you repeatedly lose your lives, the save file will gradually increase the amount of starting lives you get after retrying a zone, up to the point where you are awarded infinite lives (takes a while to get there though).

No Save is a challenge run. If you want to do it as a beginner you're more than free to but it's mainly there for veterans who are able to breeze through the campaign fast enough to not need save data, or for those who just don't care about having to start over.
