why not just add another sonic ability.

Well since this is Sonic 3 related, it's sticking to the original as it might be planned for to not add anything that is the drop dash or peel-out.
the drop dash was planned and was used in a prototype, but was never used. the peelout never happened

of course I have. I played it on mobile. I happened to find the extra sonic ability, so I activated it, if I'm not mistaken there are 2. there is drop dash and peel-out
