My bad guys I was miss reading the instructions, I thought I needed to swap out the original save file with the custom one. I was able to save the game of the modded character, so I greatly appreciate everyone's help.

Where is the SRB2 save data stored on the hard drive?

the version I'm using is 2.2 when I was using espio character mod I tried to start a new file and got a message saying "This cannot be done in a modified game". Do all mods normally prevent you from starting a new save file or is it just the I used mod specifically?
