But aren't most of the files on 4shared zipped/folder'd? Because then some idiot can put a virus along with the actual wad in there.

Basically, I meant that loads of files are just thrown in there and it's pretty open source. I bet there are a bigzillion amount of files that have viruses.

When I join a netgame using the in-game server list, it just displays the title screen forever. Why does this happen? Rarely does it show that it's downloading something, but I must say that whoever is hosting the master server for the game has a godawful bandwidth. I can barely join a modded...

When I join a server by typing in someone's IP, I join, but I can't move. I'm a Sonic glowing white and all I can do is spin-dash to no avail. Someone said to me that I might wanna rejoin, so I did, but still not working.

Ok, thanks Rob. Now, is it normal that it displays the title screen forever when trying to join a server? Is there ANY indication that it's downloading data? I'm not joining an inn server, just a normal server. Unmodded, uncheated.

Still dosen't work. If it displays the title screen after you try to join a server, is there any indication that it's attempting to connect? Besides, the question was whether it was necessary and safe to allow SRB2 through Windows Firewall.
