I don't have any favorites but i really love the Multi Attack theme from Zero Gravtiy.

I Played it before but this is not my type of game since i stopped at Knuckles's Story.

If the development has been stopped. The creator or someone close to him should is telling us the news about that, But I agree with your take that he work that in the side. It would be strange to just stop development without telling anyone.

I have plenty but the one I take is Tatsuya Suou From The Persona 2 Duology, This guy is an absolute badass. He also has one of my favorite school uniforms from the Persona franchise.
