What are the hardest video game bosses?

For me the hardest video game boss for me is Golden Silver. His attacks do a lot of damage, he is unpredictible, and has 9999 health.

Golden Silver? are you talking about Gunstar Heroes, aren´t you? I liked that game alot, was too hard, Specially the last zone where you got to have a 6 win-steak on stronger version of bosses to get to final fight, I coudn´t beat it so I hacked my way through it, and yes, he was way hard.

I didn't think Golden Silver was that hard really. Seven Force on the other hand... Good luck with that one. Orange was tough too.

Also if you play Gunstar Heroes on the highest difficulty... That's really hard. (I beat it, but only with some help from an emulator's save/load states)

Back on topic: Hardest boss I've beaten? I'm going to go oldschool and go with Ruby Weapon from FF7. That Sandpit ability takes out two of your party members from the get-go. I happened to get lucky and keep the one member who could KotR the beast. And with the armor that has the highest Magic Evade, I managed to avoid enough Ultima Counters to eventually win the fight.

The Overmind from StarCraft.

Sure, it's an RTS and thus not technically a "Boss", but he's the last enemy in the Protoss Campaign (the last Campaign of the game), and is surrounded by 5 MOTHERTRUCKIN' HIVES. A real bastard to kill, and in the end he STILL isn't dead (until Tassadar crashes the Gantrithor into him, OH WHOOPS SPOILER)

Well, i can't tell you how hard this is. But i would say the boss from Shinobi 3. He was hard.well heck most of bosses from that game were.

Oh heck yes. Zerg Mission 8 (To Slay the Beast) from Brood War still kicks my three tails from here to next Tuesday.

Though the last mission from the Protoss from the original SC is pretty tough, but doable. I usually just defend the Protoss side with some units, and attack with a fleet of Battlecruisers. Once you reach the Overmind, just have every thing blast it with Yamatos. Mission win =p

I just remembered about Greedy, the final boss of Ristar. Aside from having a huge amount of health, he can teleport, weilds a frickin' huge laser, and can summon black holes. And it doesn't help that Ristar moves like molasses and is down for the count after only four hits!

I usually go for the "Nuke 'Em" approach, mostly because Zerg attacks make it impossible for me to build up enough at the Protoss base, and seriously hamper Terran construction.

That, plus Raynor's Raiders only HAD one BC (the Hyperion), so a fleet of 'em is kinda impossible (then again, so is more than one or two nukes, but then again that's all I use before Marine spam).

Yeah, but once you learn his patterns, He's easy to beat!

Tips:
When he does the teleport-lightning, he always goes above and to the right of you, making for an easy hit.

When he throws those blue globby blue Bustars at you, you can hit them before they land for more health.

When the prepares that Bustar attack, don't hit him unless you know for certain that you can before he finishes preparing it, because then he'll move around and make it harder to dodge.

As for the black hole, keep a dark red Bustar alive after you hit him, and hold on to it for dear life, more may drop around you, so you may need to kill that one and grip another.

The hardest I think I've ever fought was Doom Dragon from Golden Sun 2 and Abyssion on Mania mode from Tales of Symphonia. Both fights lasted me about an hour, I think.

Try Beating Nebilim On Tales of the abyss on either Very hard or unknown difficulty. Heheheh... that was a party of death. That boss has like 320,000 Hp if your fighting her normally and 620,000 on the highest difficulty. Not to mention she knows all of your parties artes & Mystic artes and can stop time.

EDIT: found a vid with good quality of this boss. It's divided into 6 parts. This is how crazy this boss is. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n10r78e42no
EDIT 2: I found out she has 1,120,000 HP instead of 620,000.

Cheap, cheap, cheap. Anyone who has played through Street Fighter 4 will know exactly what I mean.

Seth is a fine example of cheating AI, bad boss design and yet another Fighting Game boss that steals attacks from every other character. Complete with a super/ultra move that cannot be dodged unless you predict when he will use it and jump at the perfect time. Not exactly possible when fighting an AI. It also cuts away about 1/2 your health if it was an ultra. GG Capcom, GG.

Drove me crazy

Sanae Hanekoma in the world ends with you. WARING:SPOILERS.

Dear god for a boss before the final boss she was hard as hell. The fact that you can't hit her with neku but you have to do with beat is just hard enough. But the fact that shes TAKES YOUR PINS so you can only use beat to kill her was just hell.

YES this goes to number one. That 5 headed thing drove me crazy!I mean 5 heads!I only had this thunder attack,(not lighting rod),Some barrier attack that slices, energy balls(LOL) and I think a bottle can that heals you.

Another hard boss is from the kingdom hearts series. Re chain of memories,Kh2,AND kh1 Are hard.I dont think I'll ever beat those.

Those are pretty much the only games that have hard bosses to me.

Owch owch owch owch Merlin Prismriver. You'd not think a trumpet can shoot that much friggin' lasers, but here you go.

But you could say that of 75% of all Touhou bosses.
