!!!EPILEPSY WARNING!!!
The "Fallen Star" follower's animation has its outline rapidly flicker. Combined with the flashing effect when using rings, it may be a bit much for some people.
When I started playing ring racers and going through the unlockables, I remember being pretty excited to see a dedicated fangame category for followers. However, the selection of games represented left me feeling a bit underwhelmed- not to say that I don't appreciate the SRB2 scene or those old engine demos, but I felt it needed some representation from the more contemporary (and completed) fangames that have come out over the years. And in this community, if you want something done, you've gotta do it yourself.
So, without further ado, introducing XFG! This follower pack aims to top off the base fangame section with a handful of characters from complete Sonic fangames.
Followers
Currently, there are two followers, with an additional two planned. As per the conceit of this pack, all followers are found in the fangame category rather than a new category.
It's Tails' recurring nemesis, M.O.A.B.! This resilient badnik repeatedly hassled the fox in his journey to try and befriend the blue blur. Fun fact: the name I chose for it is actually conjectural- "M.O.A.B." is just the title of the track that plays during its first fight in Star Shores, and there's never been an official name given for the character itself.
The titular celestial body from the relatively recent SATFS. Apparently sentient, it was the target of yet another scheme by Eggman to turn miraculous ancient power into a glorified battery. I had to take a couple liberties with the appearance to make it fit ring racers' style better- mainly in the shading, which is based on the appearance of Sonic's unique new form from the game's true final boss.
