hey you know how srb2jte has a sonic&tailschar mabye you can make a sonic&tailsrider.
 
Well, the only possible SOCced chasing bot, can't keep up with even regular Sonic's speed. Riders8.soc is simply too fast for SOCced bots.
 
SRB2 Riders Mod

No external files since I don't have time and most of them are updated.

Ok, where to start...


SRB2Riders.wad - Senku updated the SPEED, FLY, and POWER signs. It will be to your liking. Also, as known, it has an Intro and a Credit cutscrene in, with an awesome ending picture.

MetalCity.wad - I gave it the floor texture that I never had time to add, and the cave has a different texture. Sorry Dark Warrior and Akira, I haven't had time to add your pictures in yet. Next version will have them.

SplashCanyon.wad - Nothing.

EggFactory.wad - Just a fixed SOC.

GreenCave.wad - It's new.

SonicRider.wad - Nothing.

TailsRider.wad - Made the sound louder.

ShadowRider.wad - Added him a loud voice.

SRB2Riders.bat - Added Green Cave.
 
Whoa, nice updates. One slight thing you forgot though, you neglected to actually make the credits cutscene the credits cutscene. Though yeah, the ending pic rocked.
 
Chaos Zero 64, did you use the shadow with tricks i did? because i added some tricks to him if you look a few posts back, also, have you forgoten about the hoops i put into a wad? http://www.sendspace.com/file/cnfq65 it's the hoops you could've put in that update
 
Lightdasher... no offense but those hoops in that wad arent that good (the diagnol sprites) and i think you'll just need to improve them... then they might go in the SRB2Riders.wad

Current Progress:

I had my eye on Desert Palace to wad ever since I made the first level. The colloseum seemed easy and fun to wad. It's until yesterday that I finally started to wad it. Now you guys can see the current progress. Not much, but enough for some screenshots.

Yeah I got to turn off their glowiness. Too bright.


Now a quick question: If I have 2 level wads in which both have new textures in them, one being level 1 and the other being level 2, if I add them, will the textures get mixed together in some sort, or will it show properly? If it can't, I'll have to add all new textures to the main wad, SRB2Riders.wad instead of keeping them in their original level.


And to have some help on the side, can someone find out what the posters look like in the colloseum and start drawing it? You can see the temporary poster on the entrance, Eggman's green flag.

OMG! You must finish this. I also like what you did with the Chaos Emerald stand.

I'm a DIE HARD Sonic Riders fan (I practically beat the game at 100%. I just need to buy around three more gears, and everything is unlocked). I think your Mod is awesome, but...I have a few minor gripes about it...


I STILL think you should slow it down just a tiny bit! It's so fast that it's practically impossible to steer! I know the original Riders is a bit unforgiving, but...yours is downright CRUEL!

perhaps add a few rings in each shortcut? rings are your fuel, and shortcuts SHOULD replenish them, so...

And here are a few minor suggestions you should make to perfect your your maps:

metal city: it's WAY to easy to fall off the tower at the end. missing that guarantees a failure in the race. I suggest you put some springs behind the tower on the ground (so if you miss the tower, you can still bounce up, without having to try to go back and hit the yellow springs again.)

splash canyon: that U-turn at the end, PUT A RAILING AROUND IT PLEASE! it's so easy to fall off that it's almost impassable. if you want to add a bit of difficulty, I guess take off the railing at the tip of the U-turn, but not off the whole thing!

Egg Factory: uhhh...RAILINGS! there are a few places where it's just, TOO DAMN EASY TO FALL OFF. Example: there should be a railing arounf that Fly shortcut. it's almost impossible to land on that shortcut or make that turn without falling off! plus, in the actual game, there IS a railing there.

Green Cave: Very nice, just one suggestion for a more interesting effect: have the teleporter at the end repawn you off a downwards-forewards facing blue spring, so that once you repawn, you automatically shoot off across the finish line, instead of re-apearing at a dead halt in front of it.


I hope you take my suggestions into account. I'm not trying to bash your mapping and SOCing skills (which are among the best I've ever seen), I'm just trying to help you make these maps totally perfect.
 
i agree on the splash canyon U-Turn, but the rest i don't mind, it's just the U Turn in splash canyon

How about making the speed go triple as fast as it is now?

Yeah, and perhaps you should lose rings every second? When you lost your rings you must run at your maxspeed by only using the walking frames.

Another thing I'll hint at is to be able to run even after while the countdown is at 1.
