But your negativity has polluted our excitement so, so much. The devs work hard, without pay, and you reduce their efforts to..to... a mere commercialist holiday prank? Sickening. Normally the devs have a will far thicker than the Berlin Wall, but I wouldn't be surprised if the backlash of this update discourages them and they scrap SRB2 altogether.

I'm sure they won't scrap SRB2 if I'm the only one who doesn't like it so far.
This just doesn't look anything like SRB2 for me.

Look at this way, old sport. SRB2 started out a sidescroller, just like SRB1. Eventually they made the huge move to the then-modern Doom engine. This is the same thing. It's the natural evolution of the game. And I know we all yearn to go back to our mother's sweet, tender wombs, but it is part of life that every now and then we don't like stuff.
It only takes one well-aimed plane to destroy a tower.

I personally approve of Rex's party pooping. It actually inspired me to draw a new picture, just for this occasion.

In a word, yes. It's not that anyone bought in to it, it's that it's fun to pretend that you do and go over the top with it. If you can't play along, the least you can do is stay out of the way rather than ruin anyone else's fun.

I wonder how this so-called "new engine" will turn out... hopefully it won't LAG AS MUCH and HAVE HORRIBLE RESYNCHING as 2.1 did. God, that resynching! GOD! So far, it's looking good though! I hope you can port most of everything from 2.1 to this "new engine"!

A software mode is planned as an alternative for XP users. It will render a good sum of the features, such as: skies that use 256 color flat images (restricted to palette consisting entirely of default Microsoft Paint yellow shades), sprites, and anything that is perfectly flat/not sloped.

I heard from a chatroom that they're using a random level generator for them, this way they don't have to worry about fine-tuning and balancing it.
They're still working on Match, CTF, and SP support, last I've heard.
