You shouldn't care JUST about whether or not he can make a wad. Making a wad for the sake of making a wad is stupid. A recolor is often defined as a cheap way of setting yourself up as a person who can "wad". Which is annoying, because it shows no originality/enthusiasm/etc. So, yes, you SHOULD be critical of a recolor.

I'm just going to say right now that when (not if, but when) I do make my recolor, I am NOT going to claim myself as a wad maker. I don't want a title. I simply want to use the wad in online games, because of FUN, which is a concept that you simply cannot grasp if you have to be critical of someone just because they want to have fun.

Y'know, You've got a good point there. I don't care if my Smash.wad is a recolor or not. He's inspired by the Blue Knuckles trick you can do in Sonic3&Knuckles. so I don't care what people say about any of my characters! I'm probably just gonna keep all the rest of my character wads private. Only Smash is the one I'll put in.

I agree with you, I'm trying not to make this wad a recolor, but as it's first beta I'll have to.
Some things I'm improving:
*Putting it on the 1P screen
* editing it's sprites and pictures.
