Star Force, for all intents and purposes, is a 3D Battle Network with the viewpoint above and behind Mega Man instead of off to the side.

Like BlueZero4 said, if you want solid side-scrolling action like Mega Man of the past, stick with the Mega Man Zero or ZX series.
