When do you change your avatar?

Same as what Zanyhead said.

I change my avatar whenever I feel like managing the effort. In other words, every few months.

Almost all of the avatars are custom in some way, if not totally home made. My current avatar helps to represent me as an insane nut, and I'm still proud of the full work: http://www.sapphirecontrol.com/images/omfgseaking.jpg

I feel like I should document all my previous avatars at some point. I have a ton of completely original avatars, and most of them have pretty decent quality. On the other hand, some of my "inside jokes" I put in my earlier avatars years back are just stupid. I might just want to skip and toss them. I dunno.

I do it to show the arts and stuff, and when im bored with the old one.
