wow all you people would rather have sonic die than have him have bad games? I mean I gotta agree no one wants bad games but I would still like sonic to not end so early!! jeez... you people must not be very huge fans.... I've been a fan since day one and I have to say i personally hate SatBK and Sonic Unleashed but i was still happy sonic got a new game and could continue... and it doesn't matter sonic is the same and always will be! remember that! here is what I mean! sonic has always been about speed and he still is! they just have been adding twist to it to make the game more interesting and more appealing to people! I really don't under stand how you'd rather have Sonic DIE than have some bad games spiritcrusher... and who knows! they could get better! give SEGA a break here people...

This board isn't the same as any Sonic board.

Not many people have "ITS OK WERE SONIC FANS" Most people have been looking down upon Sonic, even leaving the franchise. The games have been straying away from the roots and continually get slammed.

Lets hope this changes when Sonic 4/Colors comes out.

In much the same way that I would have preferred the Godzilla series end with Godzilla vs. Destoroyah rather than Godzilla: Final Wars. And that's giving that would also mean sacrificing 5 other movies that were at least decent from the franchise. I would rather the last memory of something be a very, VERY positive one than watch the name of something that was once good and decent get smeared around in proverbial shit.

Remarkable franchises with short lives never get much attention, but remain in the heart of the few who got to delight with it´s magnificent art. Random crappy poetic instinct, lol.

I don´t really care about what Sonic Team brings up next, I have moved on to another franchises, not that I dislike the new games, but seeing in a trailer ¨WE´RE REMOVING ALL THE FEATURES SONIC EVER HAD SINCE 1992 ONWARDS TO PLEASE THE FANZ, LULZ!¨ is just ridiculous.

Did anybody notice in the review that the game's $15? Kind of steep. I paid 15 bucks for Braid, no problem. Same goes for Limbo. Paying triple the price compared to the other Sonic games available on the console marketplaces (which have almost triple the content) is retarded.

Sonic Unleashed for the Wii was $50 at launch; all three episodes of Sonic 4 would end up being five bucks cheaper at least. I agree though, $15 sounds like a bit much, and I'm pretty sure downloadable titles don't scale down in price over time like over-the-counter retail games do.

Erm, Wiiware titles will never get a price drop. I doubt the MS/PS3 market will either, unless its some sort of limited sale.

Sonic Unleashed Wii was 50 dollars at launch. But it quickly dropped to 20 dollars. Heck, Amazon started listing 20-30 dollars for all versions just weeks after launch.

That´s because Sonic Unleashed for Wii is the lamest and most pathetic excuse for a Video Game SEGA´s ever had, it is a despicable piece of crap that should get banned from official internet guides and enter sub-categories, like SRB2 and Crypt Raider. It is by far, the worst designed Sonic game ever, and I hope they get their asses to work on porting Sonic 4.

You're going to honestly say that Sonic Unleashed for Wii is worse than Sonic '06?

Well, I have the personal experience to say Unleashed for the Wii is pretty badly designed, but that seems a little over the top. I'm pretty sure SEGA's had plenty of pieces of shit that trump over UnWiished.

Awesome overreaction bro.

As for this game, I'd say it looks decent so far, but expectations are naturally low for how Sonic's been doing.

Sonic Unleashed Wii wasn't bad by any means. I personally liked it. It got rid of the cheap deaths and trial and error from the 360 version.
Unleashed Wii is a bit unfair to compare to other Wii games due to the fact it was a PS2 port. It didn't take advantage of the Wii at all.

If you value your Wii version of Sonic Unleashed, or are not interested in it, don´t push the ¨Spoiler¨ button.
That game actually ripped-off the in-game scenes from the PS3 version (or probably 360 due to framerate) and added them as ¨HQ¨ videos. The scenes barely fit the game at all, Sonic´s controls are completely flawed. Using the Gamecube controller to play as Werehog Sonic is so weird (L and R trigger to attack, WTF) the ¨home worlds¨ are just a flat picture in wich you do nothing but read people´s saying. Graphics are horrible. Level up is stupid forcing you to get what the game wants instead of what YOU want, Hidden Old-School items (Light Shoes, Bounce Bracelet) do not appear in the Wii version, they removed an entire continent (Empire City, yes, in Sonic Uleashed that counts as a continent), the game is way slower, the time-only rank system is pointless, having like 9 separated missions per stage instead of 3 Acts. Plus what you get for clearing the game 100% is a half-minute video, in PS360, you get 3 videos like that when talking to Chip in the continent that vid is located. Chip is more a slave than a friend, making the story make no coherence, all he does is open gates and becomes his ¨BFF¨. Night levels have no real combos, rarely any enemies can be grabbed, the game is too short, Gaia gates are unoriginal and incomplete, extra stages have no content at all and missions lack rewards.

Anyways, I still think Sonic 4 really didn´t need to have everything from 1992 onwards removerd, I mean, removing the Fire, Water, Electric shield was already stupid, but deleting every single character is ridiculous, I lol´d when I went to the page and it was like:

Hey now, that's one of the things I think they got right for the Wii version (and there are a lot of things I think they got right). The two shoulder buttons correspond to Sonic's left and right arms, which makes combo attacks easier to execute, and frees up the Gamecube controller's (smaller number of) letter buttons to jumping and holding boxes/enemies, which makes navigating nighttime stages a heckuva lot easier, in my opinion.

You've got to be a programming idiot to make the werehog's running mechanics work the way they did, though. Making the walking/running non-sensitive to the control stick is one thing, but the way werehog forcefully starts walking first and then stutters into a run a second afterward with this binary setup is awkward. And then you had to double tap to sprint. Honestly, double tapping on a control stick. It's like they've never heard of Super Smash Bros.

WOAH.

I never realized the release date would be as soon as this. I was guessing around November or December, boy was I off.
