Marth. Nice and fast, and VERY powerful if used correctly.

Alternatively, Link. Less speed, but makes up for it in power and actually having ranged attacks.

His voice is great for annoying the competition, and I use him constantly as well.

[Super mystic sonic]

Mario - An all round character especially good with acrobatic attacks and edgeguarding.
Luigi - Besides his wavedash and SHFFLs I see no real way to be good with him.
Link - Can make good combos, and his range is pretty dang good, but you'll have a hard time not to get with his slowness.
Samus - Techniques galore! An all-round character with some very spammable moves.
Jigglypuff - Amazing control and arials. But she's really too much of an lightweight. A real pain.

Fox - Overused.

Not the people I know use fox all the time. He was the first character that I played with is smash #1.

Haha, true. the first time I used him I was like lolwut? Pikafire? Wuts that?
I like Ness though his voice...meh, probably annoys me more than the comp.

Marth and Red Kirby (Red all the way!)

Marth, because he uses swords, and stuff. And I'm a swordshog.
Kirby, because of his inhale and the fact I like him.
