You fire rings with primary fire, and whatever special rings you have with secondary. I've yet to try it since I don't own v1.09, but I hear it works well.

I've got many dependnig on the situation.

Keyboard and Mouse:

W = Foward
S = Back
A = Strafe Left
D = Strafe Right
Q, E = Spindash
Space = Taunt (for objectplace mode)
Tab = Console
` = Scores
, = Chasecam on
. = Chasecam off
1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 0, -, "=" = Tunes XX binds
Mouse button 1 = Ring throw
Mouse button 2 = Jump

Keyboard only:
Up arrow = Foward
Down arrow = Back
Left arrow = Turn left
Right arrow = Turn Right
W = Jump
S = Spin
A = Strafe left
D = Strafe right
Chasecam/music binds are the same

Joystick (Sidewinder Precision Pro):
Joystickfreelook on
Button 6 = Foward
Button 8 = Back
Button 7 = Strafe Left
Button 8 = Strafe Right
Button 9 = Walk (Joystick buttons can be touchy :p)
Button 1 = Ring Throw
Button 2 = Jump
Button 3 = Scores
Button 4 = Spin

Obviously, the main joystick portion is the look up, down, left, right. This actually works really well, and is the setup I use for my emulated games :p.

Actually, don't you just fire normal rings with secondary fire?

EDIT: Oh, yeah! My controls...

Fire: Left-Click
Jump: Right-click
Spin: Shift
Forward/Back: Up and Down
Turning: Mouse
Strafe: Left/Right
Camera Controls (Including script-controlled camera options): Numpad Keys.

There ya go.

And that's it. I don't aim and hate using strafe. =P
No wonder you suck. *Stabbed*

Seriously though. I never used strafe before, but eventually, after unknowingly fooling around with it a bit, I can honestly say that I have no idea how I was able to live without it before.

Oddly enough, I find strafe much more useful for getting around, as opposed to match. It enables a skilled player to take a near 90-degree turn at full speed, and it makes springs so much easier to handle.

I've actually gotten much better in the past month. I just got another PC [Old, but still works], and have been netgaming with my friends for countless hours a day. Needless to say, it's opened me to a few new strategies and ideas...

Ever wonder why im gettin at netgaming heres how weee :)

Foward: UP ARROW
Backward: DOWN ARROW
Strafe left: LEFT ARROW
Strafe right: RIGHT ARROW
Ring throw: LEFT CLICK
Jump: RIGHT CLICK
Spin dash: CTRL

I use mouse look on first persen veiw
If I feel like cheating I use Shift to switch between sonic and tails

These controls are very likely to coincidence... In my mouse, left button and right button matchs with your settings :P

However, who was the only one who don't know what's strafe (looking at the poll)? I want to know his/her name now!

I use a controller as well, with the triggers for strafing.

I guess I could use the mouse and keyboard as well, I do slightly better with controller though.

WASD = Forward, Back, Strafes
Mouselook = Turn (used to use left and right arrow)
Space = Jump
Shift = Spin
LMB = Ringsling
RMB = Center Camera

I like this setup because all the fingers of the hand on the keyboard are utilized, and I don't have to take my finger off a key to do something. For example, Shadow Hog's use of 'E' to Ringsling would make me take a fnger off of one of the movement keys, hampering my ability to dodge stuff.

ESDF = Strafe, Forward, Back.
Left mouse = Jump
Right mouse = Spin
Space = Ring sling

Guess I don't have one for light dash, guess I'll have to put one in there soon, though..

The war between WASD and arrows!

No, seriously... Who uses the full stop (.) and the slash (/) for jump and spindash? (The default controls) I think that they must be changed in the final version of SRB2. ;)

I don't. Also, I set up my controls to partially mimic what you might in an FPS, since that's the genre I'm most skilled and comfortable in.

I wish I had a controller. Untill then though...
Arrow keys=move
Shift=jump
Z=spindash
X=ring
Control-Alt=strafe

I don't play online so I only strafe for special stages and time attack.
