Sonic Riders
Mario Kart
Sonic R
This is mainly SRB2 mode back in.
Menu
This may not seem like much, but believe me, it took days to code SRB2 mode back in. There was a lot of stressful times, but the biggest one was when the exe crashed before showing the intro cutscene, or warping to a level. I kept Undo-ing some of my work, reinstalled Dev-C++, and even tried to install it on Vista. It was later on that I tried srb2win.exe, and I was told that srb2.srb was modified. Freakin' XWE...
There's a few bugs not worth mentioning, but one of them was recently found that was a total bummer. I was able to add Mystic Realm and play through the whole thing, but now, whenever I warp to a level with a Gold Buzz, the game crashes. I checked, and MR doesn't modify the buzz with any SOC, and the Buzz code is untouched. One thing that I can do is replace MT_GOLDBUZZ's frames to go straight to MT_REDBUZZ's frames.
And I'm also not planning on releasing this until Wave and Storm are both finished. Knux too, but meh.
- Riders mode is only available in Adventure mode.
- You don't stop Uber Running when you fall off a ledge or going a little bit slow. No, you have to be going at a speed of 5. No brakes yet, since it doesn't seem to respond when you press the C button.
- S_Skin's RUNONWATER was 'renamed' and used for ABILITY2. For Riders compatability, you need to give this 0, 1, or 2 for Speed, Fly, or Power.
Mario Kart
- You begin and stay with Kart vehicles.
- Splitscreen players have the same controls as Player 1. No HUD yet.
- Green Shell is fixed. After testing the flags, I had to remove MF_SPECIAL and MF_SHOOTABLE and replaced them with MF_NOBLOCKMAP for the shell to work. So if you want to try the green shell in your Riders version, simply add an SOC with THING 149 and FLAGS = 262160.
Sonic R
This is mainly SRB2 mode back in.
- The Standing, Walking, and a few other frames from SRB2 are added in.
- Monitors have been fixed so that they appear as TVs in Sonic R mode, and Capsules in Riders.
- Sonic has Double Jump, and Tails has Adventure mode Flying.
Menu
- Skill menu (Easy, Normal, Hard) is removed. Actually, you just skip it. Single Player->Start Game->Choose Player.
- Click me for details. The wheel spins just like the original. You can actually find a darker version in your srb2riders.ridr file.
