Question about using a Joypad offline

The game won't recognize the key presses when I press a button on my joypad. I tryed to configure the controls to it but the game acted like it wasn't even there...

Can someone help me?

(This is in the main game. I haven't tried with any wads yet....)

I still can't get it to recognize my joypad. I use the joypad in skulltag and most everything else but it just won't work here...

The USE_JOYPAD wasn't recognised by the game's console...

This is no offense or something but I'll give this advise because I completely overlooked this option at the first view, too. Is it possible that you forgot to do this:

You have to set controls. The game doesn't just assume it's in and working.
