True liar.
This just came up after a discussion of browsers; what software do you use for different things? Y'know, browser, media player, antivirus, so on.

I use Windows Media player 11 for my media player, Internet Explorer 7 for my browser, AVG Free Edition for antivirus, and Spybot S&D for the antispyware.

I tend to use MS software, more than anything else; as seen with my choice of media palyer and browser, as well MS Office XP/2002, MSN messenger, and so on.

I use Windows XP SP2, Home Edition. Networking features are pretty limited compared to Pro, but I make do with what I've got and use Real VNC to remote control over this small network of mine.

So, what do you use?

I use Windows Media player 11 for my media player, Internet Explorer 7 for my browser, AVG Free Edition for antivirus, and Spybot S&D for the antispyware.

I use all those exact same programs...
'Cept, I haven't updated WMP for ever. I don't even know what version I use now...

For chatting, I use Skype. And that actually isn't used for chatting. More like for when me, mom and/or dad play WoW together.

My operating system is Windows XP Media Center edition.
I have no idea how it compares to like, other editions. As I have never tried them.

Computer: Windows XP

Media Player: Winamp - I used to use Windows Media Player until I learned Winamp is freeware. Yes, freeware. Not only do I live in a cave, I live under a rock not even knowing I'm in a cave.

Internet Browser: Firefox 2.0. Spellcheck and tabs are convenient, especially when working with the wiki.

Antivirus: AVG.

Email: Microsoft Outlook

Connection Type: Clearwire router. Though I guess connection goes under hardware, not software.

Chatting: mIRC

OS: Windows XP Pro
Software: Firefox 3.0, WMP 9, Symantic Antivirus, Spybot S&D

Edit: Firefox 1.5 -> Firefox 3.0

ree-c actually wrote this said:

Okay, I'll quote this, since there's no real change in to what I use.

Operation System: Windows XP

Browser: Internet Explorer 7

Media Player: Windows Media Player 11

I think there are more, but I don't know

EDIT:

Video Editor: Windows Movie Maker

Video Capture: FRAPS and CamStudio
Yea... I don't really like Windows Movie Maker, but it's the only thing I have.
EDIT2: (Whoops)

Music Editor: Audacity.
I almost forgot to add this...

Windows Xp home edition, Winamp, Audacity(for editing), Microsoft Movie Maker, Internet Explorer 6 (I can't get 7 for certain... reasons).

I myself use Windows Media Player (No idea which version) as a media player.
IE (No idea which version, the one with tabs that looks like they tried to emulate Firefox) as a browser.
mIRC for IRC.
Windows Live Messenger as my preffered IM thingy.
Windows XP Home as an Operating System.
Norton Antivirus for... antivirus.
And a combination of MS Paint, and Photofilter (Don't be suprised if you've never heard of it) for image editing.

OS: Windows XP Professional Edition with no service packs due to having the inability to install them.
Media Player: Either Windows Media Player 9 or QuickTime, depending on the situation.
Internet Browser: Firefox 1.5. Firefox 2 runs like crap on my computer.
Antivirus: eTrust VET. I do have AVG Free lying around but I haven't installed it.
Chat: mIRC, Windows Live Messenger.
Officework-type Program: Microsoft Office XP with the works.
Image Editing: Either Photoshop 6 or Paint, depending on the situation.
Screen Recorder: CamStudio.
Screen Capture: ImageShack QuickShot.

You guys are all smart enough to know where these fall under.

AVG - antivirus.

Media Player: Winamp or Windows media player 11 - I mostly use Winamp now. For some reason I also thought Winamp was shareware for a long time.

Internet Browser: Firefox 2.0, Internet Explorer 7 - I use Firefox for almost every internet stuff I need to do. I only have IE7 for updating windows <_<.

Email Client - Thunderbird

Virus Scanners - McAffe and Norton - McAffe I use for my laptop, Norton for my desktop.

Spyware - McAffe and Spy Sweeper - Even though I have to pay for Spy Sweeper, its worth the money IMO.

Image Editing - Gimp 2.2 - Yes, its confusing, but I prefer it to Photoshop, and its free to boot. It helps that I took a course of digital image editing to help the learning curve.

Image Capturing - Print Screen, it comes with the keyboard, so why use a program to do something a keyboard can already do? <_<

Sound Editing - Cool Edit 2000 and Audacity - I mostly use Cool Edit for any serious sound editing. I just have Audacity for my laptop for quick editing stuff.

Chatting - Chatzilla and AIM - I think Chatzilla is good, it hasn't given me too much problems. I really don't know why I have AIM, I don't use it too often.

OS: Windows XP Pro

Media Player: Winamp (audio) and Media Player Classic (video)
