Flame On!
This is my first time posting a W.I.P beta here (no wads yet tough, I don't think it's long enough to the point of worth releasing)

So far I got some screenshots of the map I am working on using DB2 using Violo's config, which is working well but with some missing features for SRB2 here and there but anyway, here are some screenshots.

I made use of some events like door open with button as well as a short 2D mode area (and that's the only area, the rest is 3D) some water area's as well as pool's of acid, I know I need to spice some area's up but I am not a good mapper so I need to learn to make a good SP map, I play more as Knuckles then the other 2 characters but I did tested this as Sonic as well, he should get anywhere so far.

Some things to mention is that there are costume textures, some are animated as well like the new water and acid.

Here's a note, I am not working on this as much as I want, I have school, homework and other stuff so on that get's in the way, so progress on this map is quite slow, mainly the most time I get to work is at Saturday and Sunday, unless there are special holidays like easter holidays and so on.

Offshore Rig

let's hope it doesn't blow a leak and throw millions of gallons of whatever it is holding into the pacific ocean

(Look, if I hadn't said it, someone else probably would have.)

Anyway, it looks like you have some good ideas, but they aren't all there yet. In particular some of the textures don't look quite right; the orange sky, for example.

I don't know what to do with the sky, it is in 256x256 size and it doesn't look quite right, I don't know if it's possible to make it so it doesn't loop around either since most of the skies in SRB2 are made to be seamless, my priorities right now is to fix textures and build the map and maybe edit some areas to be fun exploring (providing secrets or difficult yet providing useful items areas)

Another problem is if you die in 2D mode, the sky loops weirdly as in shows on top of each other as the camera goes higher then the sky below/above it but I noticed this in vanilla SRB2 as well so I don't think it could be fixed.

It can be 'fixed' by making a sky texture that is 1024 pixels vertical.

How large can a sky/flat/texture be? Slade can import a max of 256 height and width but I found that Eggman castle zone sky is larger then that and it can be fixed using patches, which doesn't seem hard, however I am stuck on one thing, I want to insert a scenery object but I am unable to as when I put mapobj 4016 the sprite doesn't appear (it is a costum thing) I did put S_Markers and put F00A1 between them but the sprite doesn't appear, the sprite always looks at you like a bush, monitor and so, however I didn't calculated the radius and height, I copied them from another scenery object (Stalagmite I think) this sprite is 80x156 in size, I am using SOCedit too, I am using the free slots and am stuck with this and I need to put this specific sprite in, any ideas how to correctly make costum objects work and calculate the radius and height values?

Also it's soc contains MF_NOTHINK, MF_SCENERY and MF_NOCLIP flags checked if these matter.

btw yes I did put the soc codes into MAINCFG of my map but the sprite is not appearing, what am I missing? is it because it has wrong radius or height?
