New 2D Sonic game "Sonic the Hedgehog 4" announced for 2010

I'll just wait for people's opinions once they play the game, since I'm not entirely sure the gameplay is what I'm looking for. From what I've read and looked at, it sounds like less of an emphasis has been placed on emulating the advanced physics of the old games, which somewhat bothers me since I enjoyed exploiting the jump mechanics on slopes. Mind, this still looks decent, but I may just end up waiting for Act 2 so I can play as Tails.



If I get this, first thing I'm going to do is try to complete the game without save files at all. I like the good ol' challenge of clearing the whole thing in one shot.
 
For a final zone, it doesn't look too difficult. However, since this is only episode one, the following episodes might be more of a challenge.
 
You know what? You're all gonna hate me for this, but Mad Gear looked awesome to me. I didn't have any problem with its pacing at all and the gears introduced in Act 2 returned in Act 3 and were incorporated pretty well with everything else.

So my only legitimate complaint now is Casino Street Act 2's small size. I hope the leaked video was of a mock up of that stage because there's no excuse for it to be as tiny and restrictive as it is now.

I don´t like it being called STH4, it´s no longer the original Sonic trilogy and its kinda late to make the 4th part of the series, taking in count it´s been over 16 years since sonic 3, other than that I won´t discuss much about it until we can see some gameplay.

I don't get why you guys refuse to acknowledge this game has the next game in the series because it doesn't seem "up to par with the other classics". Like it or not, it's Sonic The Hedgehog 4.
It's just made worse when it's over nitpicky details.

Dude, their light went out ages ago. I only go there for specific rom hacks, namely Sonic Megamix.

But I'm getting off topic, I haven't seen the leaked stuff and never will until I get and finish Sonic 4. Why? Because it will be more enjoyable for me to figure out how to get across the zones using old school methods and the "new age" homing attack. I seriously do not understand why people cant realize SEGA is giving them a blessing through the homing attack. Oh well, lets see them lose countless lives without the homing attacks and tell them to "GET THAT WEAK MESS OUTTA HERE!" and whatnot.
 
This game almost has an average fangame quality to it. I am not saying that is a good thing, but I am just saying that I would try it out if it was free. I don't have enough interest in it to pay for it though.

There is always a demo. If you can't make up your mind.
 
See, I like to look at several reactions to the game to pick out some common complaints and compliments and see how they fit with what I want... the problem is that people are taking this way too seriously.

I'll have to glance at some of the videos when I'm at home. Or maybe I'll just wait for Sonic Team to publish some. Either way, I've never really taken the game more seriously than a fan game with a release date... so I doubt I'll be disappointed. Watching the way this game trolls sonic fans isn't funny anymore, its just depressing.
I didn't bother reading half of the posts in the last two pages. I'm guessing its basically the naysayers declaring victory over the supporters. Then the majority of the community will be ill-disposed toward the game and those that like it anyway will earn themselves any number of labels. Just make sure mine sounds cool.

This has been another complaint about the sonic fanbase. Thank you for ignoring my post and have a nice day!
