I can't even get Winamp to play videos.

WinAmp has plugins to play anything from Genesis and SNES music to FLAC music to crappy music-based dancing games that require a webcam. I would stay far away from the WildTangent stuff, though.

WinAmp is good for music but bad for videos. WinAmp gets out of the screen when I try to play a video. :? For a season I set the associations to "Audio only".

You really can't beat that old Windows Media Player 2.0 for video, and XMPlay is the best for audio in my opinion.
