Multiplayer bots cause desyncs with extra lives

If a extra live is obtained in multiplayer while a bot is in the game, the client assumes an additional extra live is supposed to be given, causing the live count/ ring count to desync from the server.
This was tested with Foxbot, RailAI, and addbot, all resulting in the bug.

Its an issue with the mods being out of date
I went through foxbot deleting nearly everything besides the code to add the bot itself, leading me to believe the issue lies with the vanilla game itself. In addition addbot has no code related to lives or rings.

The code itself, is the issue

The whole bot loading thing is from 2.2.10 and 2.2.12 changed some things internally
 
Mind clarifying what changed regarding the bots in 2.2.12 (it worked fine prior to that)
(and how to fix the bug in an addon if its due to the addon being outdated?)

also the bug does not occur with the bot type "BOT_NONE"
