im lost with character wads!

ok, i dont know where to start to create a character of my own for srb2.
i checked the instructions srb2 on the forums and web site, but they cant seem to help me. i guess i need "wadding for dummies" or somthing like that...

all i know is that you have to start somewhere with a sprite sheet, but i have no idea where or how to get one.

can somebody help me? :(

Google helps.. search for something like "Sonic the Hedgehog Sprite Sheets" or something. :/
