So, uh, how does one embed one's self into an exe that is always running and therefore always locked for writing to?
Boot into safe mode, login with the username Administrator, you may need a password you may not, most of the time a root admin password isn't actually set. Download Malware Bytes (google it) and do a quick scan, removing anything it finds. Then do a full scan and kill off the stragglers.
Use Spybot to remove any spyware, then get yourself some decent anti-virus software, because whatever you were using is pretty much useless. Also, were you running IE? Firefox wouldn't allow invisible downloading and execution of files, so if you were indeed using FF then there's a lesson to learn here.
