You only need one port open, 5029/UDP, not 5029/TCP, 28900/TCP or 28900/UDP. See SRB2 wiki: Netgame#Hosting a netgame

LoganA, seems http://wiki.srb2.org/wiki/Main_Page and some other sites hosted at srb2.org are experiencing a little downtime. www.srb2.org is fine though.

Also, J-town is not the only who is having the same problem. Me, Shrike and Silent_Snipe are in same trouble :/.

I'm sorry if I'm annoying you with it.

That doesn't make sense, all of srb2.org subdomains via http/https are hosted by the same program, on the same server. If wiki.srb2.org was down so would blog.srb2.org, www.srb2.org, and everything else (unless it a database issue and/or PHP error for the one subdomain). If it is about having your server being listed on the masterserver page, but not being listing in SRB2 client itself, it's just as Cue said, you don't port map 5029/UDP correctly. the SRB2 client sends each IP address (and on port number listed) on the masterserver list a ASKINFO packet, and waits to see if it get back a SERVERINFO packet. Only when the SRB2 client get that SERVERINFO packet, does it pops up as an entry on the in-game list.

Ahhh - I found my problem. I was hosting on TCP, not UDP.

EDIT: Did that. Still not working.

Yeah, it doesn't make sense, but it's happening to me too. At seemingly random times -- on seemingly random subdomains -- I can't connect to parts of the website with my D-Link router. It doesn't happen to any of the other routers I connect to, but considering other people are having the same problem, I'd say something is wrong with your server.

Also, no, I have no trouble hosting (when I can access the master server, anyway).

the whole subdomains at a time, or just a page or two?

Are you sure to are port mapping it to the correct internal ip?

Didn't understand that, Logan. D:

Do you mean Put my External I.P. Adress to where it says 'LAN Side I.P.'? I'm using Buffalo btw.

What model? and yes, your Lan IP, it goes something along the lines of "192.168.#.#"

WHR-G125 model.

Ohhhh. Okay. Portforward.com told me to put my external I.P. There

What's weird is that I was able to host and be joinable 20 days ago. I have hosted SRB2 since 2007 and I never had similar problem. Either MS is down, or my ISP is in troubles. >_<'....

Also, I never needed to set up or open ports. Since I installed SR2 here, I never messed with Internet settings like that you told me. Everything was installed and set up by my ISP and ready to use.

I'll ask my technician. He had re-installed my printer these days. I'll ask if he messed something in my PC. Other than he, I don't know what/who may have changed my settings. Maybe my ISP.

Logan, thanks for trying to help me.

EDIT: and if I re-install SRB2? it may help...

EDIT2: I've just contacted my ISP. He said to disable my firewall: not worked. Problem persists. Tomorrow I'll ask my technician.

Additional info: my connection is via radio (wireless), dynamic IP. GateWay: 192.168.2.1 My PC uses "SiS 900 PCI Fast Ethernet Adapter" (it's not there in http://portforward.com).

The whole subdomain. Usually, it seems to be, like, two subdomains at a time or something. Sometimes I can access the MB and SRB2Wiki but not the pastebin or MS, for instance.

WOOOOOOOTTTT! PROBLEM GOT PWNED!

WORKED! WORKED! WORKED! WORKED!

I AM ACTUALLY SEEING MY SERVER THERE, AND PEOPLE JOINING!

I realized that someone (NOT ME, probably one of technicians) messed some Internet settings of my PC. So I gave my ISP a call righ now and told them what was happening... I spoke about portforward but they told me my connection doesn't need to open ports because all ports are already open. YUP....

They asked me to check out the settings to see if everything was in order.... and wasn't. They helped me to fix the things here:

PROBLEM GOT PWNED!

I have to reward you all for bearing with me until now.

Thanks,

First off, my connection is via radio. It's like a satellite dish, but instead of pointing to a satellite, is pointing to a radio antenna. I don't have in my house a router like this one: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Router. Probably the so-called router is in ISP plant. So I can't ensure everything I'm about to say here will go right for you.

What I did was a little trip:

To fix the things, I visited http://portforward.com/english/applications/port_forwarding/SRB2/SRB2index.htm , but... I don't have a router here! So, I clicked randomly on a link of that list.

Reading the first lines, I saw I need to have a Static IP Address, so I clicked on "Static IP Address" link (http://portforward.com/networking/staticip.htm), and on "Windows XP" link (http://portforward.com/networking/static-xp.htm), here I found the the instructions that made me to find that window (and to solve my problem).

When I opened that window in my PC, I saw it was set in "Obtain an IP address automatically". Then I said "something here is wrong, all fields are empty!". As I don't have a router here, I gave my ISP a call and spoke what's happening. They said the settings and the numbers I had to set up (as described in that window, but the numbers may be different for you). I clicked OK, and I did a test... worked!

To find that window in WinXP: http://portforward.com/networking/static-xp.htm (read starting from Step 5).
