Choosing different characters for nights mode?

So everyone has been given access to super forms, and if you play them in single player you can take any of the playable cast into the special stages. No more turning into super sonic instead. Neat. But when choosing "night's mode" from the 1player menu you are always stuck with super sonic. Is there a way to change your character? Maybe a secret code?

Everyone was given NiGHTS sprites very late in development. Honestly, we're talking last few days before calling things content complete here. While there was time to update the "Secret Levels" option to allow for character selection, there wasn't time to update NiGHTS Mode.

This could change in a future patch, of course, but I imagine it's not a priority.

that's completely fair. I was just hoping to be metal cause he's a long time favorite of mine. Not a big issue of course. Hopefully it does get added! I'll definately go for all A's if i can play metal and tails!
