A little help with putting wadfiles into the game...

Heh heh... I'm new here, and this is exactly why I joined.

I went to the downloads section of the main site just after downloading SRB2.

I downloaded the launcher, and two character files, Tails Doll, and Shadow.

When I tried to add them, the launcher said the file could not be found, but they were in the same folder.

Can you guys help me at all?

Are you sure it's not in a subdirectory? The launcher doesn't look inside the subdirectories, even if you point the launcher toward it.

It's just a fancy way of saying subfolder. You can't put any of the wads or the launcher inside a subfolder of SRB2's main folder. Otherwise, it just isn't noticed.

Put it directly in SRB2's main folder, and it should work.

Hm, that's interesting.

Did you rename srb2win.exe at all? I'm not sure if that would cause it to say that error, but I know you shouldn't rename srb2win.exe under just about any circumstances.

I'll try and experiment to see if I can get to the root of the problem.

EDIT: Yep, got the error. Maybe that's your problem.

Yes, rename it to srb2win. The problem's that the launcher looks specifically for "srb2.exe", so if it isn't called that, the launcher will ignore it, which isn't a good thing.

No prob, glad I can help. ;)

*goes and makes a note in the launcher's wiki article*

I thought it always looked for the "Srb2win.exe". Not "Srb2.exe"
