Where do they get the information from 2.3?

Actually,you already can make custom Special Stages. You might take a look at the mods that have some (such as Dimension Glaber) and learn from them.

sonic's the same

tails looks more like the hesse style, and has a visible mouth

knuckles is slightly brighter

amy's getting a respite but keeping the same pose, and hue shift
(finally i can use amy without models and not complain about the sprites)

metal's getting a simple hue shift

FANG GETS STYLE oh yeah also a hue shift

knux, amy, metal, and fang look like they have their xmomentum pallette

I like how they look in the upcoming version. I could notice these changes:

- Sonic is sadly the same (in terms of sprites)
- Tails is more like the Mania Adventures/ Tyson Hesse style,with diffrent looking snout and a visible mouth
- Knuckles has brighter shading
- Amy is re-sprited to look more like in newer Classic Sonic titles (such as Origins Plus and upcoming Sonic Superstars)
- Metal now has darker shading on its belly and hands
- Fang now looks way better

From what i can,only Sonic's friends have changes,which makes Sonic be alone in terms of sprite changes,and the Blue Blur himself

I'm surprised nobody has pointed out the different shade of pink being used for Amy. It looks a little better in my opinion.

I do like the changes, they are amazing at the same time. I'am just gonna listed them down, for a reason:


1. Sonic literally looks the same but with a brighter blue, which is kinda sad for this being the same.

2. Tails looks like straight out from Mania Adventures, only with some bit of tweaks.

3. Knuckles looks slighty changed, as for the brighter color for him.

4. Amy Rose looks different with a brighter shade of pink, which looks like it was straight out from the Newer Classic Sonic Titles.

5. Metal Sonic also has the same thing as Sonic, and Knuckles.

6. Fang The Hunter (known as Fang the Sniper) looks alot better as usual, even though his color is a down grade.


Even though it is sad to see Sonic not having any changes, I still like what they made.

Amy's new colour reminds me of her sprites in Sonic Origins. At first I didn't like it because I thought the main tone was too vibrant but I've started to warm up to it.
Also, for the record, Sonic's sprites aren't the same. He's using the same colours but has received minor shading and anti-aliasing tweaks.

So to summarize the changes:
- Sonic has minor shading tweaks.
- Tails looks like Tyson Hesse Tails.
- Knuckles has similar changes to Sonic.
- Amy resembles Origins/Superstars Amy.
- Fang has the same deal as Amy. (FANG GOT DRIP WTF)
- Metal Sonic just looks shinier.

If I were in charge of the new appearances (which I'm not), I'd also change each character's default skincolor to different ones.
- Sonic: Cobalt (I like using this on Sonic more than I do Metal.)
- Tails: Tangerine (one of the new colors as of v2.2.12)
- Knuckles: Pepper (new v2.2.12 skincolor)
- Amy: Either Taffy or Fancy (both of them new skincolors)
- Fang: Eggplant? (new skincolor)
- Metal: Either Cerulean, Midnight, or Dusk (the latter two being new skincolors) (He can no longer have Cobalt. That is now just for Sonic.)

well, then again, all of motorroach's work is pretty good, so i guess it was kinda destined to be legit

Ah, Fang, my beloved. Very happy about his new sprites. From what I've heard 2.2... er... .14 now, is going to have slight moveset tweaks for Amy and Fang along with the new sprites. Finally, I can play as my favorite characters without being bored to death and without having my eyes assaulted by 2.1 era sprites!

And maybe they could randomly bring back how the old S_SKIN works back in 2.1?
Like what ever ability you want for your character, you can just set it to 1.
Ehh, whatever that wouldn't add something like that.

I dont think they would have something to show of for the SAGE 2024,so they might skip it and show the progress of 2.3 in some other SAGE contest in distant future.
