Customizable music tracks for levels? I approve.

I wish Sky Sanctuary incorporated Mecha Sonic and the Death Egg into gameplay, somehow. Not bad, though.
 
I hope that soundtrack customization works for bosses as well, because I want to hear my INXS styled American Stardust Speedway. Probably won't get it. Oh well, The boss looks boring anyways. What happened to the challenging, obstacle driven Death Race motif of the original battle? Oh right, I'm talking about Sega here. That was thrown out the moment they made Metal Sonic the first boss.
 
I think the reason why metal sonic is the first boss is because they are going to introduce amy..I mean..think about it, in the first game you meet amy (Rescue her) after the metal sonic boss/race, its gonna probably be the same thing..but since its classic metal sonic..Im pretty sure its classic amy. ^-^'

Because it makes perfect sense to make the first boss in the game as difficult as the sixth boss in the original.

I don't know if you played CD or not, but he was even easier there. Just saying.

Only thing that really bothers me at this point is that the Modern levels still look a little easy so far. That and Classic and Modern only get one act each, at least from what it looks like.
 
Speed Highway looks just like I thought it would.

And I actually like the Classic remix, even though I'm a rock person!
 
Recently I had found information about Sonic 4 Ep. 2. It'll come out next year. Why, you may ask? The answer is, the developers want to focus on Sonic's 20th Anniversary game, Sonic Generations and not other games. SEGA has all there attention in this game this year.

In other news, they now having Classic Sonic, Classic Super Sonic, and Tails figures.

Recently I had found information about Sonic 4 Ep. 2. It'll come out next year. Why, you may ask? The answer is, the developers want to focus on Sonic's 20th Anniversary game, Sonic Generations and not other games. SEGA has all there attention in this game this year.

Old news, but those figures look pretty cool.
 
That Tails figurine is positively adorable. I might actually have to splurge on it.

It shall be a nostalgic heirloom passed down from father to son.
 
When you compare the 3DS and HD screens, both Speed and Radical Highway actually look very similar in terms of visuals.
 
Speed Highway is already my favorite. It was my favorite level in Sonic Adventure to the extreme. =p
My main worry is how many levels the game will have. So far they've revealed 9 for the console version, and it's already October. There needs to be more than 9. Seriously.
 
1: They've only revealed 7.

2: Tough luck, there's only 10, and one of those is just a DLC pinball stage.
 
If discarding Crisis City as a confirmed stage, then 8 have been revealed, 9 counting Casino Night. And yes, 10 counting all so far.
 
Yes, I agree, Highway Speed ​​is very similar to Radical Highway.

Nevertheless, the level of PS3/XBOX looks just beautiful ! I always liked the level of Sonic Adventure, and I hope there will always be the impression of great speed, and the possibility to run on the sides of the flats !

For the 3DS version... Generally, I am more interested to HD consoles. The backgrounds are successful, but I feel that Sonic and the platforms where he walks are a little pixelated on the sides.

Crisis city? then all the stages are either a City or a Hillside Beach? Yeah the stage choice doesn't seem so smart...
 
I think that the developers of this game are taking liberties with the game's levels to ensure that they're not so similarly themed. Take the HD level roster, for example...

Green Hill - Tropical trope
Chemical Plant - Industrial / "Underwater" tropes
Sky Sanctuary - Ruins / Aerial tropes
Speed Highway - Suspended highway / urban tropes
City Escape - Urban trope
Seaside Hill - Tropical / Ruins / Underwater tropes (has strong Ocean Palace vibes)
Crisis City - I'll assume it has Urban / Lava elements, though I really hope that we get to go beyond the city a bit and into the rocky wasteland that surrounds it, perhaps with Flame Core-inspired elements
Planet Wisp - Woodland / Industrial tropes (?)
Rooftop Run - Urban / Carnival? tropes

So yeah, from what we've seen so far I like the level variety, even though I didn't expect to at first.

I love Speed Highway, by the way, especially with the sophisticated interiors. And I would've loved even more neon signs plastered everywhere!
