What about the final bosses for the sonic rush games?
They did fit the ds-gameplay themes in my opinion.

It was Eggman for the final bosses there though. Exception and Deep Core were both Eggman bosses. Eggman and Eggman Nega, but still. It is pretty much Eggman behind it all.

He did appear in Secret Rings. He was the king... Not a major role, but he's gotta get a paycheck to pay for all those robots somehow.

sound familiar?

Not only does it have almost all the same mechanics as Sonic X-Treme, but it also has a very similar story line (of the seven) as Sonic X-Treme. The story line from Sonic X-Treme is Eggman believes that there is a very powerful force in the master emerald, so he breaks open the master emerald only to find that force is SIX MYSTERIOUS CREATURES that attack Eggman. so, SONIC MUST HELP EGGMAN DESTROY THEM.

the seven of Sonic X-Treme

Seven?
Your not talking about Lost Worlds are you?
No, the seven of Sonic X-Treme. There was, Sonic Mars, Sonic Twist, Sonic Saturn, Sonic DOOM, Sonic BOOM, SonicPC, and Sonic X-Treme.

Oh, sorry I don't know the gameplay or the stories and other related things to Sonic X-Treme. All I know is that it was cancelled and a guy on Sonic Retro is making a better version of the original Sonic X-Treme. :/

I think he's talking about other games that were created and based on Sonic X-treme. His whole story could be metaphorical.

Sonic X-Treme had a bajillion incarnations, and a bajillion different stories to go with it. Only one of the ideas went public back in the '90s; Chris Senn helped uncover tons more.

I'm not 100% sure where the names came from, but they are what are listed on Sonic Retro, so there you are.

Windy Hill and Desert Ruins gameplay (both Wii U and 3DS): http://www.ign.com/articles/2013/06/07/e3-2013-exploring-sonic-lost-world
Wow, I don't know the right words to describe the game play. But it's definitely got mario galaxy elements to the game. What confuses me is the fact that I don't think there are any pit falls or just areas where you can fall due to the level game plays/styles.
I also see that they brought the skydive game play again but it looks more challenging. Furthermore it looks like sweet mountain got a realistic update because I could of sworn that I saw half-eaten oreos in Desert Ruins.

Considering the 3DS version showed off an actual Desert stage, it probably is a pun. Remember how New Super Mario Bros U had tons of sweet tooth objects in the Desert level? Same theme there.

Aaron Webber also noted in the video that each level will contain their own themes. Example - Green Hill had 3 levels that were Green Hill themed. This will have various themes within each level map.

Nice throwback is that the levels are now called zones, instead of acts. Sonic CD reference.

New screenshots that might interest you guys, since you hardly talk about Lost World anymore.

It's been 10 years since the last real casino-themed level...

Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Soichi Winter Games
I am still waiting for a platformer Mario & Sonic crossover game.
It makes me sad they're still milking the Mario & Sonic Olympic Games. It's got to be like...the fifth game. The only real difference is that "Hurrah! 1080p!"
Sonic Lost World
Does it bother anyone else that Sonic still seems to have the graphics from his Generations debut while the world around Sonic seems so colorful, so cartoonish.
And even the badniks resemble their original classic artwork, look at the Motobugs!
And not to mention look at Sonic's movements, his running movements etc. It completely resembles the classics. And you know what? That's not a problem.
It merely seems odd to me. Why not just let Classic shine in the spotlight again if that's the case? The new screenshots even have the whole Classic Sonic head. It's just...odd too me. As for the Color Powers. Well...let me go ahead and say right now Asteroid looks like a rehash of Void but if it has it's own twist it that'll be enough for me. Eagle looks like a more fast-paced Hover. And Rhythm......um...is it Spikes with a different type of style? Uh...cool. It looks pretty fun though! I'm happy that the Wisps are back, I enjoyed them very much! I hope they're more minor power-ups for optional routes and I hope they're really only necessary the first time you grab them so you get the jist of how to handle them.
