A certain someone, who is probably going to receive a medal in short order, provided us in 'fun with an experimental EXE that erases exactly one line of code in SRB2.
Result: the reliability of netgames has tripled, give or take.
Rare footage of too many (real) people in this clown car of a...
I refer to the tale of the tape on this one: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mbUw502VocI
I've heard of similar bizzare behaviors from the CTF flags in 2.1, but this is the first i've witnessed myself. Note that 2.1.10 was literally being compiled as I uploaded that.
Example WAD (replaces O_LCLEAR): https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/52809406/vgmtest.wad
I don't know if this affects the other new music types supported.
>tunes 20
WARNING: Failed to play music lump O_MAP20M due to invalid format.
Happens every time I try to play tunes 20. There's no apparent problem with the file itself that stops it from playing in other programs.
More bizzare yet, if I try to overwrite O_MAP20M with another OGG file (namely...
Just what the title says. It has always done this on my end since 2.1.0. It doesn't seem to happen in menus, but it does ingame.
OS is Windows 7 and my sound card is, apparently, "IDT High Definition Audio CODEC" (this is a laptop so i'm guessing the actual hardware some Intel piece of shit).
Hmm, what could be wrong with this picture?

It would seem zoom tubes don't always trigger as intended in ERZ. On two occasions (ERZ2 on the left route and ERZ3), I could just stroll right down the chute. Backtracking to where the trigger point was gets it working properly. This doesn't appear to happen every time you go in, though.
This is not really something that can be proven with screenshots or footage, and may not be happening on stronger hardware, but bear with me:
2.1 in windowed mode does not run as smoothly as 2.0 windowed, regardless of the resolution setting. The FPS counter doesn't report any abnormal...
SRB2 seems to automatically (and aggressively) set your multiplayer character color to whatever the character's default is. If you go to Setup Player and change the character, it'll immedeately change the color to their default when you leave. It also flat out ignores the color command in the...
Now this is rather bizzare. It occured in a clean server (no WADs/SOCs/cheats), and the only other thing happening out of the ordinary was a lot of consistency failures in the server - mostly upon level load, but sometimes during the level. Maybe a netsplit of some sort? *shrug*
Yeah, I know this room has been overhauled dramatically for the next version, but I wonder if this has been overlooked:
Step into the side of the cannonball launchers and you will be instantly blasted to smithereens (or crushed, whatever the case happens to be).
* scr_mysticrealm.wad
* Forced to quit game in MRZ for reasons that are not relevant to this
* Return to game later and enter save menu
* Discover that the game has banished you back to Starlight Palace with 6 emeralds
* Blood curling scream of frustration
So, remind me again why the fuck it...
Yes, everybody knows about this one and i'm sure it was reported in the old thread, but it hasn't been run by this forum yet, so just to be official:
Since killing people by shoot/touch does not normally happen in Tag/H&S, having sudden death on causes an extra 100 points to be earned for every...
What the title says. I tried several path combinations (.\screenshots, the entire path from the C drive, ect.) but SRB2 won't save screenshots to any directory but its' own.
Then again, i'm guessing this is just one of the numerous old commands that don't do squat? :p
Apparently this is still possible. The person here claimed not to know how they managed this. Unlike the last time this worked, the off-color person was assigned to a team.
Yeah I know, the SRB1 Remake, and this isn't even much of a bug, but nonetheless:
You step into the boss room, and the starpost behind you is smished into the floor by the wall.
