Alright, someone pointed me to this thread, and I just have to say, wow. I'm both disappointed at the repeated outbursts of rude and needless negativity, and also at D00D for failing to set a proper example here despite being active in the thread as a judge and mod.

I don't know why this mod managed to strike such an aggressive chord that everyone felt the need to dogpile on it, but let it me known that just because a "bad" mod can pass releases on technicality, doesn't mean it wont be called out on said quality. And if you think this mod should have been rejected... Be glad you don't get to see what does get rejected.
This is hardly a decent response whatsoever. I really hate the attitude of "be glad you don't get to see what DOES get rejected" -- I'm having a hard time quantifying how much this annoys me, but it really feels like the worst way to handle this ugly mess when combined with the fact that you didn't actually handle any of the offending posts.
Anyways:

The ridiculous amount of backlash over this feels like pointless mob bullying. No other mod on the forum, regardless of quality or lack thereof, has generated even close to the amount of "reviews" this has, many of which are just beating the same dead horse. I'm pretty sure they heard you the first time.
This is completely correct. Although I can't justifiably nor would I want to strip anyone of their right to review a mod, I really wish everyone who dogpiles this sort of thing because it got posted in their discords or whatever would consider whether or not adding the same old words to the pot again and again and again actually serves any real purpose other than to just be frustrating.
dude that's exactly the opposite of what he's meant to do
It's not that we don't get it, and just because he admits its bad doesn't mean he's excused from criticism :v
All you're doing is allowing shit like this to be seen as perfectly okay
Actually, in all honesty, I believe it IS perfectly okay. He had a goal, he set out to do it, and it succeeded. It might not have had a positive reception, and that's fine; it's okay for people to say they didn't enjoy it. But a joke doesn't need to be objectively funny as a prerequisite for it being okay to submit here. Might not be what you'd do with your time, but if he had fun making it, doesn't have any greater ambitions for it, and it doesn't break any rules, then that's just fine.
The best criticism is used to help people achieve what they're interested in achieving in the first place.
I'm pretty sure we've been on the same page about this in the past, so I'll just remind you, addons is, by and large, simply a repository of non-rule breaking mods people thought it'd be fun to make and share, not a curated collection of the best and greatest things.
They posted something online therefore they should've prepared for criticism.
I don't know how you could completely miss the swathes of completely inappropriate criticism on this thread. Either you responded without actually reading up for context, or your judgment is extremely poor, because there has been a lot of obviously inappropriate comments here. Maybe have a gander back through the thread to inform yourself on what sorts of comments are welcome and which are not, now that I've warned everyone who deserved it.
