Please make sure I'm designing CTF maps right.

She/Her
I thought I'd try my hand at making a few SRB2 maps. I read Level Design 101, and I tried to design my maps according to what it said there (occasionally breaking a few rules, but that's okay in art, right?), but I don't have hardly any experience in CTF. Can someone make sure I'm designing these levels with the right mindset? I eventually plan to make a wad that replaces all levels (that don't need to be unlocked, because I suck at the game and can't unlock anything myself) with my own.

These levels replace the first four CTF maps. I don't remember what they're called, but I don't know how to edit headers with Zone Builder so those are unchanged. They follow the theme of the first four zones in Sonic 1. Here's what I was thinking for each zone:

First zone: A very basic map made with very basic experience. A couple gimmicks are here, such as areas you can't see in until you go inside, and a bottomless pit on each side that's definitely easier to cross if you're not holding a flag.

Second zone: This level is designed to make it easier to get into a base than to get out. You go in the opposing team's base, get the flag, make a bunch of huge jumps up a large staircase, cross an island that's suspended over lava, and safely make it back to your base.

Third zone: Designed after Spring Yard Zone, this level's main gimmick is springs. I deliberately made it difficult to directly cross the center pit if you're holding a flag. I know I probably shouldn't be focusing on pits, but the focus in CTF is the flag, not necessarily getting rid of other players. You cross the pit with a spring on the left.

Fourth zone: I think this is unfinished since I probably forgot to put a few finishing touches on it. This is where I ran out of inspiration. The gimmicks in this one are water, and getting lost in the opposing team's base. Sounds fun, right? I'm sorry. You can probably pretend this one isn't here.

P.S. (Can someone please tell me how to edit level headers with Zone Builder if it's possible?)

I deleted the duplicate thread.

Fodder, just as a reminder, keep the thread to work-in-progress stuff. Posting stuff for people to help you with or offer critique is fine, but the goal should be eventually to have it in releases rather than living here forever. No worries for right now, though, you're doing fine.
