May not have been during SAGE, but I must say: This was pretty Awesome! I'll devide my thoughts into Pros and Cons for better reading.
PROS:
- I LOVE the Western-Style of the game, both in atmosphere and soundtrack. In fact, the theme in the first level, Outlaw Adventure, is telling you right away it's all on cowboys.
- Levels are well-crafted. The Sub-Title Cars already tells you what to do, which is a nice nod to Sonic Adventure 1's Mission Card when starting a level in that game.
- Voice-Acting is top-notch. Sonic sounding as adventuristic & cocky as ever (Jehtt) and that near-perfect replication of Eggman's voice (Dontae Majors) are my favorites. Major props to Cashlin Snow & KaL Yoshika, too.
CONS:
- The Objectives in some levels can be repetitive. Outlaw Adventure & Egg Client mainly suffer from these as you have to kill every single enemy to progress. I'm glad that Damage Re-Adjustments for 2-Hit Badniks and Egg Client take much lesser time to deal with them, though.
- Optimisation is a bit sluggish. I tested this on both Windows and Android without any other mod, and I'd say Android is much more insulted (Windows runs just fine). When selecting a Save File, the mod ejects a SIGSEGV and the game crashes.
If you choose No-Save File, you are able to play the game until Calamity Canyon, where it crashes.
Massive shoutouts to all who worked and contributed the project (including myself, as I am one of the credited beta-testers)! The mod is top-notch, with some Cons to iron out. Still, I reccomend picking this up, IF you're on a PC.
I think that the poor performance on Android is due to the large number of objects ... you can try turning down the draw distance, though that might not stop the crash
IIRC one tester tried it on Android and managed to play through, though I guess device specs come into play
