So, after reading the messages given by D00D64, and others, I've started work on making levelling up more worth it. (And somewhat easier to do.)
There isn't that much yet, but as of now you can unlock the Super Jump, and Spin Burst at Level 25.
The Super Jump allows you to gain more height than a normal jump, provided you charge it for a second via crouching. The Spin Burst requires you to charge up as well, but press your SPIN button instead to get sent spinning forwards at high speeds. (More abilities are planned in the future, just need some ideas first!)
Also, since the Spinbust was pretty lazy, and it didn't really feel much like a Spin, I replaced it with the Dive.
The Dive does exactly what you expect it to, press SPIN while moving enough and you'll dive. Land on the ground from a dive to start sliding, don't want that? Press JUMP to jump out of the slide with a cool spin of some sorts- Just watch out not to hit a wall while diving, or sliding.
Oh, did I ever tell you about Speccy's laptop?
Yeah.. that exists. Hidden in the files with 0% progress done was a LAPTOP Lua script in v1 and v1.0.1.
Now it actually exists... kind of. (It's still very WIP, as such it barely contains anything besides a basic window framework, and input support along with a few "apps".)
You can move the cursor with your Movement controls, and click stuff with JUMP.
However... what are those things floating in space...? They look similar to the thing in that shop listing-
Could it be? A Speccy Chao!?
Yup! You can buy a Chao that looks just like you, it'll even help you out a bit... if you let it level up-
It starts out by helping you collect Rings, (and Blue Spheres!) but eventually it'll be able to target things like Monitors, and even Badniks!
Finally, if you payed attention to that Laptop GIF, you'll see Save and Reset options. If it isn't obvious enough, in Singleplayer you can manually save your progress at any point, no need to worry about losing anything now. It'll automatically load next time you start playing with Speccy. The Reset button though... be careful around that. It gives you a fair warning about what it does if you simply click it. If you do delete your save data though, it'll boot you out the laptop to show you. It'll also auto-save permanently wiping your save.
Sadly, you do not auto-save at the end or beginning of a level yet.
