So it's a typical Sunday morning, except #srb2 is actually active right now. I've become really bored with RO since my Poring pet, Popo, was causing trouble, so I wanted something to do. I was really bored with Botanic Serenity already. I looked. And looked.
And looked.
Then found this little gimmick!
Yellow Galaxy Zone, a Match map based off of Galaxy Fortress from Sonic X-Treme!
This Match baby has been sitting and surviving on my just-recently-half-corrupted HD for like, two months now, almost completely finished, almost completely forgotten. All there was to do is to add vertical wind to the pit, but it actually never worked correctly, so I just "blew" it off XD (Haha, get it? Blew? Har).
For all I know, this should've been released two months ago!
For the hopelessly idiotic ones, Yellow Galaxy is a hopefully-faithful recreation of Galaxy Fortress, except using the Red Sands textures that happened to come with SRB2. Only intended difference? It's a Match stage. That and it has working rings ^_^!
But what makes this map really special is that it recognizes X-Treme, which is still a very famous, unfinished game to this day. Its architecture was entirely comprised by screenshots. It's amazing. Join me in my pride. There is a lot.
And this, as far as I can tell, is the very first FD Match map that utilizes X-Treme textures.
I would've done more to the map, but I really wanted to finish it back in its active design days, despite that it's slightly glitchy and the framerate's kinda' slippy; can't be worse than Botanic Serenity anyway. I've decided that it didn't really need much more, so...
Yellow Galaxy Zone - 615kb
Go nuts. :D
Readme file coming soon.
Botanic Serenity? You won't be seeing much of that in a while, trust me.
