Question about sabing the game.

This is going to sound very stupid.

I can't figure out how to save the game.
I recently downloaded the newest version of srb2 (I think) from one of the links posted on the download page of the official website.

It looks great, much better then some old demo version I had from 2003.

But there's one small problem.
There doesn't seem to be a save option anywhere in the menu.

In the old version I had, you would choose start game, and then have an option to save or load. Now that I have the complete one, I can open that menu just by hitting start game, and I am only given the option to load. So, a save file is created when I begin, but I can't update it once I reach a new act or zone. Making the save file system... pretty pointless.

Somebody tell me please, am I missing something obvious (or something discrete) or do I have a defective version of the game somehow?

P.S. I downloaded this from the "Mirror 3" Link on the main download page, just in case that matters.

Autosaves.

Don't worry about it, when yous top playing, you can load it.
HOWEVER, it does NOT save individual act progress, so you'll ALWAYS start at Act 1, and it won't remember emeralds you got until you beat Act 3 of the zone.
It does this due to the old save system being horrendously abused.

But if you beat the game, it saves on every ACT.
