Cutscenes

Well, it MIGHT not be possible. If it IS, then it's in the map header. But, nothing mentioning that is at a441's map header tutorial. I was just asking because I hoped that it WAS possible.

I believe it involves SOC editing. I'm not really sure though, I really haven't messed with SOCs that much.

Well, I thought that you DEFINE a cutscene in an SOC. e.x: You tell what a cutscene has in it. I want to know how you PLAY a cutscene after a level is over.

If I remember right, you can't play a cutscene AFTER a level, but you can play one before a level...so, if there's a level after the one you want a cutscene at, just have the cutscene at the beginning of the next level.

Does anyone want to clarify?

Yeah, but I want it as the credits scene... There's no level after the credics. How do you specify which cutscene to play? Is it the number of the level or something?

It's cutscene=x or something like that, which is the cutscene number that you defined in a SOC. FYI, the map headers are actually just tiny SOC files - you can put any SOC command in them. I don't have any SRB2 stuff with me where I'm at, so a441 is going to have to respond in this thread sooner or later. ;)

Set "cutscenenum = whatever number" in the map header for the level you want it to play AFTER.

I haven't messed with cutscenes myself, but Blaze's SOC thing in the Archive forum seems to have an example.

Like I said, experiment. Maybe you'll be able to get something, although wouldn't the cutscene play after the winning screen?
