Could someone show me a really high-end, sophisticated level that shows how detailed a level the doom engine can create? Like a level that's more detailed than Botanic Serenity or Metal Flower.
You'll not find something like a real high-end, sophisticated level because of the fact that levels / rooms built for SRB2 get horrible grafic bugs if they used too much FOFs or they'd just brake ZenNode if they were using too much vertices / linedeffs.
These limitations force mappers to keep their level design (especially for bigger maps) simpler than they might want to. On the other hand are ball shaped sector objects and ramps only possible by using thousands of sector-partitionings and/or thousand of control sectors which is often not worth the time that would be spent.
I tried to build an eggman head only with sectors in doombuilder one time, for example. The result still looks more like a gag than a serious immitation even though I spent hours with thinking, splitting and testing to make it work...
