Spin and custom 1 inputs acting up

So, for some modded characters spin and custom 1 wont work for whatever reason. not all characters act this way, it seems to only be some. it seems others dont have this issue on the chars i look at so, is there anything in my settings that could cause this? or anything i can do to fix this?

Are you using the latest version of SRB2 (v2.2.6 at time of writing)? Sometimes characters use new features introduced during patches, and those features won't work if you're using an older patch.

ah that would make sense, im using 2.2.1 ill try to update!
