Master Server: Genuine/Authorised servers?

I was just looking on the Master Server, and I noticed one of the servers were genuine/authorised. What does this mean, exactly? Does it mean it's a dedicated server or something? :S
 
On Twitter, an authorised/verified account is one that has been verified to be who they say they are, to deter fake celebrity accounts.

Same idea, authorised accounts are to show that the server is indeed hosted by the developer it claims to be hosted by. You'd be surprised how many people pose as Mystic/SSNTails/etc.

Oh, so that's why I saw KOTE's server being genuine the other day.

inb4 a dev hosting a roleplay server
 
If this is so, can I make "Garee's Shiney Server" a genuine for me, then? :3 (Wait a moment, just read "Developer". Aw.)

But yeah, that's actually a pretty good idea, actually. So people don't pose and all. You should make it a tad more obvious as to what it means, though.
