In Haunted Heights Zone as Knuckles, after the checkpoint that sends him to the left and everyone else forward, there is a room with goop on the bottom, some conveyor belts, and some ghost enemies. This room houses the diamond emblem.
When you enter the room, look at the left wall -- it'll have some pipes. The farthest pipe can be climbed on. If you climb to the top, jump off, and then glide left, you can get to the platform with the emblem without a problem.
Considering that the in-game hint for this emblem is "Take a leap of faith! The spirit will lift you up to find greater heights.", I went to the platform before the spikeballs, jumped to the lone ghost enemy, bounced off of it, and entered a room with a small challenge to the emblem. So...yeah, I don't think climbing on that random pipe is the intended solution.
