How to make character mods?

Hey, so, this is my first post, so, hello!

I have been really into mods and stuff recently, but, i never really get the mods i am looking for, so, i decided to make mods myself, i actually need help lol, so anyways.

How do you make mods?
Which program do you use?

Hi, CheeseOmelette! I'll ignore the fact that you should've asked this in Eding Help. For Character mods, you use a drawing tool (like GIMP) a text editor (like the one built into your computer) and SLADE/XWE(Most would recommend SLADE). Scripts use the SOC and LUA file extension. Go to the Wiki's section on Editing and you'll find what you need there. Go to the Discord server too, they'll be glad to help.
