Moved Tails immediately becomes tired after flying into a balloon

When Tails flies into a balloon, he immediately enters the tired state no matter how long he's been in the air. See attached gif. I found this while messing around with objectplace yesterday. I suppose it's not too much of an issue since none of the vanilla maps use balloons?

This also occurs with bumpers. Both objects have MF_SPRING so I imagine that's the cause. Amy can hammer balloons and bumpers for more height too (and it even plays the sprong sound).
