Hey !

Warning : it probably look terrible/weird. Be ready for your eyes.

First of all, I am now showing some ports to SRB2, for now only from Sonic 3 & Knuckles. It's the same level, except boss/gimmicks, and few things. So dont except anything new.

First of all, I'm not attempting to recreate all the levels from this game, I know it's really hard, and long. Just doing few, before totally starting my own levels :)

For now, I nearly finished Hidden Palace Zone, just few things missings for now on it :
- The borders on the most of the ceiling wall, for now it's, herm, you'll see.
- The secret path with items missing
- Knuckles path missing
- Maybe the Knuckles place too small (?)
- The Emeralds place not done for now

Must say, i'm not an expert, but a HUGE fan of S3&K, so to have, just few levels on SRB2, it's always a pleasure for me :O

I did Hidden Palace, because it's probably the easiest level of the game, and obviously, I like it, even if it's short. Remember, this stage still in beta.

I also started, probably a crazy level, but, Death Egg Zone Act 1. Already done a bit, even if it's freaking hard, have to say it. But it's an interesting level.

As you can see, the screenshots are weird, and the background is not supposed to be so dark.
And for the background, I have a question, should I keep this background, on SRB2 style so, or eventually put the original background of Death Egg Zone ?

Textures from The Mystical Forest zone, put with XWE.

Have fun, and new to come soon :)

Whew, I thought this was going to a repackaging of that SRB2&K leak. It does look nice so far though. Keep up the good work.

Totaya17, this is... I don't know any other way to put it other than: AWESOME. I love it; it doesn't look bad at all. In fact, it looks really good. Can't wait to see more!

The levels look way too small, probably is because of the textures used are sprite rips from the site.

For future reference try to make custom textures for a couple of the things like the rocks that are part of the background and the picture in the area of the boss fight for Hidden Palace. You also want to make a larger version of the textures that are already present.

For the Death Egg Zone Act 1, you could keep the current background for the beginning and the end, then in the middle part of the level have the original background and use sectors to make what looked like a generator in the orignal game's background.

I really am hoping things go well for this project.

I'll be blunt, these look terrible, they don't resemble the original levels in anyway at all. They show no signs of effort.

The big issue that I can see, is that everything is just so small in comparison with the player. (Including the textures, which really need to have their size increased to make them more pleasing to the eye). While the idea of a 2D recreation of the Sonic 3 & Knuckles levels is novel, and could be interesting if done right, I'm concerned it might come out cramped, making it a challenge to play, for all the wrong reasons.

This has potential, but I have to agree with Whackjood...the textures need to be enlarged somewhat, and there has to be some control for crampedness.

Ok...you must be smoking something because these levels may not look like the original levels completely, but they definately look somewhat like the original levels. Trust me, out of all the times I have played the game I would know.

I'd has to disagree completely. The colors in the SRB2 palette do not match those of the tiles in the original levels. The tiles are also resized.

Looks pretty neat! Just a question: what are you going to do for the loops?
Well actually you can do fake loops by using the Zoom Tube function.

And for the others, yep, you right, textures need to be resized, probably *2 or nearly that.

And also Thx for comments :)

I never said completely now did I? Let me rephrase that, they don't look exactly the same, but they still look like the original levels in someway.

I just got a problem about the transparency. All is set on cyan, so, no problem on XWE.

In game, it looks weird (like repeated) on the place where it is.

But in Opengl mode, the transparency look totally fine and great.

A way to fix it in the normal mode ?

EDIT : got my idea.
