Strongest entry in the Genesis era?

Obviously Sonic 1: Omochao Edition

Silliness aside, I would say my favourite in the Megadrive era would be Sonic 3.. and I have no idea why. :T Perhaps it was because I absolutely loathed Sonic 2's green zone which I forget the name of. (Metropolis Zone? I'unno) and Sonic 1 is just.. Sonic 1.

Sonic Toast Edition. I could go on for hours explaining why it's so good, but I think I've said enough already.

Still need to persuade Cinossu to rename him to Eggontoastman.

My favorite is Sonic 3 and Knuckles. Lava Reef, Sandopolis, Ice Cap, and Hidden Palace zones were very inspirational to my active imagination. The culmination to hyper sonic flying through space high above the planet, battling Robotnik within the starscape, set to amazing music... I cannot express how wonderful of an experience /beating/ S3K was to me. I loved the credits too. It just felt so very complete in the end, and I felt like I had just read a good book. Strange, right?

I even enjoyed playing hundreds of the special stages, until my eyes were crossing. :P

EDIT: It is the Launch Base Act 2 Boss music (Sonic 3 final boss) that I really like, not the Doomsday Zone music (S3K final boss).
