the free VOCALOID

OK. I thought I'd finally post this here.

For those who actually know what a VOCALOID is, you probably also know how expensive they are. Well, I found a nice little program called UTAU. It's basically the same thing as VOCALOID. It's kind of a pain to use though. It's completely in japanese, and you have to type in the japanese characters to get it to sing. I guess I would fall under the Akita Neru users. (Gets to impatient to actually finish a song) but maybe this might be nice for those who actually create songs.

Now, the obvious pros and cons. I haven't actually looked to deep into this, so please forgive me!

Pros: Well, first, It's FREE!!, you can download different voices, and even create your own, and, from watching videos, It's possible to make them sing english better than the official Jp. Vocaloids.

Cons: They sound a little more robotic, and you can't type in english.

Also, if you don't know how to type in japanese (like me), just right click the middle of the screen and select the second option.

Now, the link.

I'll also post different VOCALOIDs to use with the program later. Right now you guys just have VOCALOID Dehuo (or Default.) The others sound soooo much more like an actual VOCALOID.

God damn. I don't see you often enough, and it saddens me. :(

On the plus side, it's finally good to see something like this free. AND NOW.. I'll sound like an idiot and say 'I'll download this when I get the chance'. Like everyone else.

I'm sorry! ^^
I don't feel like I see you around too often either. Maybe I just actually have to read through topics.

Anyway, here are voices! I haven't gotten all of them. The obvious one I'm missing is Momo, but I've got Kasane Teto, Runa, Yokune Ruko, and an unfinished one someone gave me on youtube.

I'll update it later, and maybe make a separate file for each.

Yeah. Also, sample song vids I randomly found on youtube!

And remember. I didn't include half of them, and there are even more out there, so...

Damn, I can't work out a single bit of this stuff, even though I am learning Japanese.

OK! Just gonna' update with a bit more info now.
Someone on youtube posted the basics of the program.

Also, I've completed putting my voice in a file, so now I've got my own VOCALOID! ^^

Yay!

K. For other things, there's a way to import midi files into UTAU so you get the melody pre set, and then you add the lyrics from that. I have to find where that option was, but it's there!
*is off to make DOAA*

There's also 3 of the UTAU singers available for MMD, but I dunno the link. I'll find them eventually...

I fairly like how this UTAU program looks. Operating it seems to be the problem.

How does one go about reading the entire program in english? I know this could have been done in the VOCALOID 2 program by replacing a DLL file. Is it the same in this?
