Two hit shield action

What does the two hit shield's action? Is it like the instant-shield of Sonic 3? (Used to deflect bullets). All the others are easy to understand, specially with the new GFZ1 layout, but I haven't found an use to this one yet.

If I remember correctly Force Shield's ability is called "Force Stop", it does nothing beyond canceling your momentum.

Yeah, the Force Shield's ability simply cancels your momentum, so you can platform easier. It's not quite as useful as the other shield abilities - but to be fair, the Force Shield's power is being able to tank two hits, so its ability is a bit underwhelming as a result.
