Phantasy Star Online 2 (often shortened as PSO2) is, in short, a wonderful video game developed by SEGA, and I encourage all of you to try it. PSO2, being one of Japan’s biggest online action RPGs, and a direct sequel to the first PSO, finally arrives in North America on PC!

I've clocked in so many hours on this bad boy like you wouldn't believe. It's a fantastic Action RPG with niche elements to boot. A lot of this can seem overwhelming to a new player, so I've wanted to pass along a few guides that have been helpful to me before:

Reserving your Player ID: Do This First!
"Player ID Name" and "Character Name" are two very different things, and it's important that you reserve the ID you want before spending too much time in PSO2. When you first join, your displayed name in the chat will be something like P12345678901 which isn't very descriptive.

To reserve your Player ID Name, go to the character selection screen and click on Support Menu. After that, click Change Player ID Name and enter the name you'd like to use. This name is present across your characters, so think of it kind of like an account name.

Mag Feeding
Your Mag is an important part of your kit as it gives you considerable stat bonuses, however feeding them and leveling them can be tricky and irreversible if done incorrectly, requiring you to buy a new one.

PSO2 Tweaker: or How I Learned to Avoid the Lag/stuttering and Play the Game
PSO2 Tweaker is an alternate launcher/handler program that does a number of things, but the biggest benefit is fixing lobby lag/stuttering. Plenty of information on their site in addition to a full usage guide, but in short:
If you're stuttering/lagging in-game, install this and be amazed at how smooth things run.

Extras
I may add to this initial post from time to time, given my current passion with this game. But for those that wish to find me, I'm on Ship 2. Often found in Blocks 100 or 107.
During character creation, the game may ask you to enter a Player ID for a friend referral system. If you'd like to use my Player ID, so we can both receive wonderful items during story progression, my Player ID is: 10585348

Hhmmmm, this game seems very interesting. Maybe I'll try it tomorow or someday this week.

EDIT: So, the game require's the player's PC to support x64. My PC only support's x32, so I unfortunately can't play it. ):

I tried this game out earlier today, it's been great so far! I can't wait to play it with friends.

I'll be honest, I played the game several years ago on the Japanese server a bit, I was quite entertained for hours but I got bored because I only played solo and I got stuck in a quest (my level ceiling was 30 and I didn't know how to make it higher).

I would probably try the NA version someday but the whole f2p aspect of the game kinda prevents me from fully enjoy it.

I'm currently slowly replaying PSO1 (and plan to redo the Portable games) while checking out for PSO2's evolution in Japan and NA.

I wanted to play the English localization when it was released, but due to me not using Windows 10 I've been unable to download the installer through the Windows store. And I'm not going to upgrade to Windows 10 just to try this game out.

It looks like a game I'd enjoy, but until I can install it without going through the Windows store (which is a planned thing, I'm told) I can't really give it a shot.

before i check this game,i want to know how many space needs, for both download and install

Edit:nevermind,i can't download it

Approximately 11 GBs for the launcher.
Approximately 60 GBs additional for game files thereafter.
How could a launcher need 10 GBs of data?

Also how Sega cannot optimize their game to take less space? I feel like accessories and clothes take a lot of space for nothing.

You can download the game through Arks-Layer at https://arks-layer.com/, It lets you download the Japanese and North American versions. I've been told that the Japanese version is better since it has more content; and there's a patch for the Japanese version that translates most things into English.

The custom launcher has been out for several years now (eight, last I read?).
SEGA must have heard of it by now, but given no action has been taken against launcher users, it's safe to say that no issues are going to happen now.
Hell, I've spent some time downloading the game a few days ago, and I'm playing with no issues so far! (bar a couple few every few days where I am forced to restart the computer, otherwise my computer refuses to connect to the PSO2 servers for no particular reason)

I'm glad fans are here to help people around.

I'm still staying on Blue Burst private servers (but I wouldn't mind playing with others).
