game version 2.2.8, model version 1.3 (patch)
After looking through the thread, and double-checking all my game settings are correct, I'm still having trouble understanding how to get the extra characters to work (Blaze, Yoshi, Rouge etc).
I looked at a Youtube vid, and it seem to suggest that they should be listed like any other character in the character selection screen. Is this correct or is this some extra add-on? As this isn't the case with me. I can only see the usual ones (Sonic & Tails, Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, Amy, Fang, Metal (which all work just fine)) after which point, it goes back to Sonic & Tails again.
I've opened the models.dat file from the games root folder, and the entries in the VDLC.txt are listed there, so I don't think it's that. The folders are also in the correct location too.
Is there an extra option in the game to allow extra characters on the selection screen, or a way to force reload the models.dat file? I'm out of ideas here.

You are selecting the add-ons in the game, right? It's not enough to just have them there. They won't work unless you activate them during your session.

Lol. Didn't my conversation mention something about this? You have to download the correct addons separately.

I can give you the links of a few: Modern Sonic: https://mb.srb2.org/showthread.php?t=46476 Rouge: https://mb.srb2.org/showthread.php?t=49392 Blaze: https://mb.srb2.org/showthread.php?t=46017 Werehog: https://mb.srb2.org/showthread.php?t=46770 Rocket Metal Sonic 1: https://mb.srb2.org/showthread.php?t=46770 Rocket Metal Sonic 2: https://mb.srb2.org/showthread.php?t=49682 (I don't know if the second one works) Ray: https://mb.srb2.org/showthread.php?t=45836 Mighty: https://mb.srb2.org/showthread.php?t=46840

And that's all the ones I know.

EDIT: I almost forgot Yoshi! https://mb.srb2.org/showthread.php?t=46743

EDIT: Dr. Eggman: https://mb.srb2.org/showthread.php?t=46482

EDIT: Shadow, ChrispyChars (Pointy Sonic and Fluffy Tails), Metal Knuckles & Tails Doll

ahhh! now I get it! For me, it wasn't at all obvious that you needed someone else's addon to get these ones to work (probably because it works just fine with the standard characters), and the tutorial vid I saw didn't even mention this at all!
How do you know who's addon will work? Or would anyone's Yoshi addon automatically work with the Yoshi 3D model?
Is it normal that most options don't work with mods? I only seem to be able to play without saving.

First of all: It really depends. I tried my best to get the right ones. The only one I'm missing is Dr. Eggman.

Second: I'm pretty sure it is normal. And it makes sense because the only way to disable addons is to restart the game; therefore if you were able to save a your game while using an addon character and reopened SRB2, it would probably crash because the addons would be turned off automatically.

Ah that makes sense. I didn't know lol.
So... Do you know which character addon on this site is for Dr. Eggman?

Yep, i guess it was me, idk, i have told that to a loooot of people.
Thanks to god that they understand.

When using these with CrossMomentum, Amy's spin hammer just has her default to her standing pose.
While it looks silly, I'm assuming it's because there wasn't a 3D animation for it, so she basically T-posed?

yes, basically.
since Jeck didn't do a compatibility of his models with Xmomentum, right now each of his model would look weird and use the idle pose

It works

For some reason, this mod won't work on Mac. I extracted the 7z file and it turned into a regular file. I put the file in srb2 adding and booted up srb2. I could not select the file. I can only view it. I tried using the 7z file, it won't even show up. I need some help!

You just have to move the folder in the srb2 folder and open gl
